Religious Garin

“After a long week in the army, it is really important to come home to a place where you are comfortable and happy. We celebrate every Shabbat together, make Kiddush, and enjoy each other's company. It is so meaningful to have that type of community. We really will be family forever!"
-Joshua, a Garin member
The religious Garin started in 2007, in order to provide a group framework and support for young observant Jews who wish to take this journey with a group of like-minded people. Upon their arrival in Israel, the religious co-ed group is adopted by an Israel religious Kibbutz that quickly becomes their home away from home, throughout the duration of their army service. Our Kibbutzim are spread all over Israel, like Be'erot Yitzchak, Sa'ad, Kvutzat Yavne (among others). In 2014 we had four religious Garinim!
The preparation seminars are held in a co-ed religious environment. The food is Kosher with an in-house Mashgiach, Shabbat is fully observed and the prayers are with a Sefer Torah. The seminars in North America are spiritually led by Rabbi Avi Weiss.
Once in Israel, The Garin is accompanied by religious staff, and each Garin member is placed at a host family in the Kibbutz. Besides preparing for the IDF and settling in Israel, the Garin members visit Jerusalem and other places around Israel, follow the Jewish calendar and fully observe Shabbat and holidays.
Preparation seminars for religious Garinim are held in North America, Europe, and Israel.
